Waldport Oregon
Waldport Oregon is a small town on the Central Oregon coast. It has a population of around 2000 full time residents and it is where we decided to settle.
The beautiful Alsea Bay Bridge greets visitors coming from the north. The bridge was built in 1991, but if was not the first bridge on the site. In 1936, the first Alsea Bay Bridge was opened, and after decades of enduring the rough natural elements of the coast, it was replaced.
Waldport has its local amenities: a couple of grocery stores, a nice bakery, a small seafood restaurant. The downtown area is nicely walkable, and often visitors and locals alike are seen traversing the small but charming town, on foot.
Great view of the Alsea Bay Bridge, from the south:

There are two main beach areas in Waldport: one north of the bridge, in the Bayshore neighborhood, and the other south of the bridge. Both are easily accessible.

ishing boats can often be seen going out to sea from the Alsea Bay. Clamming is a favorite past time for both locals and visitors and the bay just south of town is a favorite spot for it.
